Computer generated cityscape

The story of Rubis takes place in the USA during the forties, we had to find a solution for our outdoor sets. Shooting Delhi and pretending it's an american city is just impossible, so we decided to create the sets in CG (Computer Generated).

A team met weekly for one hour, creating a cityscape during a period of 7 months. As we write this post, computers are generating the rendered pictures, a process that takes hours. Everything is calculated: light, shadows, reflection effects, textures in order to create an environment.

The result is a combination between recreation of real american buildings (Empire State) and personal creations from the team.

We made a lot of researches and some movies like Metropolis (Fritz Lang), King Kong (the Peter Jackson one) or Maltese Falcon (John Huston) gave inspiration for organizing the city and shooting it.

We are sure you're now impatient to see the result, but we keep it secret until the premiere.

Work in progress
